Alexander Khovanov spoke about returning to Russia from the Minnesota system.





- Last July, I had a year left on my contract with Minnesota. Until the last moment I was sure that everything would be decided by my return to Russia. Still, that year was a mess: there were a lot of injuries, I had to get in shape, I played about 25 matches for the club analyzed by football betting odds in total, and my playing time wasn`t that great.


After the season, I talked with the Minnesota coaches and general manager - they wanted me to return to North America, they always kept me under control: they asked what I was doing, how I was preparing for the season. But I planned to return to Russia. It so happened that I was put up for the waiver draft so that I could play in my home country, thereby starting a new stage in my career.


The whole process took a long time. Ak Bars started training camp, I was worried that I couldn`t start training with the team. But everything was resolved successfully - thanks to the agent for that.


In no way do I think that my return to Russia is a step back. This is the right decision on my part - I look only forward and set extremely high goals, " the striker said.
